catch-up

Zack had his end of school picnic at a park in Okemos. It was so much fun to go and see him "hanging" with his buddies from school. They are all just as roudy and outgoing as zack is so they get along pretty well. Hopefully I can get some more pictures from his teacher, but these are the only ones I have.

Zack and I decided to have our very own pool party, sans reagan who missed out on all of the fun because she had to take a nap. Poor girl, maybe next time. So we grabbed our pool, and put it out back. There is no hose attatchment out back so we had to run the hose all the way through the house. I was greatful there weren't any holes in it. We had fun, but by the end everything was pretty much just a muddy mess. I was so afraid we'd get mud on our carpet I forgot to take pics of the aftermath. Maybe next time.

My first 5K and Zack's first 100 yard dash

Emily and I before the race started, we still look good

The home stretch! I finished in 28 minutes and 20 seconds!

Zack waiting patiently for his race to start. He was the youngest runner for this one. It was so fun to watch him! He came in dead last but he ran as fast as his little legs would carry him. He was so determined to finish. He looks so small compared to the other kids.

Ready, Set, GO!! The horn they blew kind of startled him so he was off to a slow start. But in the end they all got medals and we got him a shirt. So he was excited. He had fun, and it was so much fun to watch him do this. Everyone who was watching was cheering him on because he was the last one to finish (he was like 15 seconds behind the rest of the kids). sorry the picture sucks, but that is him running. I wish I would have recorded it.
Thank heaven for the medals, if they wouldn't have stopped him i'm afraid he would have kept running.

Zack showing his medal off to the by standers who were cheering him on. A fun picture to end our adventurous day. Don't mind my red face, I always get so red, and it doesn't go away very fast.

to all us moms

PRICELESS A man came home from work and found his five children outside, still in their pajamas, playing in the mud, with empty food boxes and wrappers strewn all around the front yard. The door of his wife's car was open, as was the front door to the house and there was no sign of the dogs.

Proceeding into the entry, he found an even bigger mess. A lamp had been knocked over, and the throw rug was wadded against one wall. In the front room the TV was loudly blaring a cartoon channel, and the family room was strewn with toys and various items of clothing. In the kitchen, dishes filled the sink, breakfast food was spilled on the counter, the fridge door was open wide, dog food was spilled on the floor, a broken glass lay under the table, and a small pile of sand was spread by the back door.

He quickly headed up the stairs, stepping over toys and more piles of clothes, looking for his wife. He was worried she might be ill, or that something serious had happened. He was met with a small trickle of water as it made its way out the bathroom door. As he peered inside he found wet towels, soap and more toys strewn over the floor. Miles of toilet paper lay in a heap and toothpaste had been smeared over the mirror and walls. As he rushed to the bedroom, he found his wife still curled up in the bed in her pajamas, reading a novel.

She looked up at him, smiled, and asked how his day went.He looked at her bewildered and asked, "What happened here today?" She again smiled and answered, "You know every day when you come home from work and you ask me what in the world I do all day?""Yes," was his incredulous reply.

She answered, "Well, today I didn't do it."(author unknown)

memorial day fun

We had a fun memorial day, Jeff took the day off from studying (mostly) thanks to cooley for observing a holidy. And we figured since we couldn't go camping we brought the fishing and roasting of mellows to us.

Jeff and zack dug a hole behind our porch, threw some briquettes in, 5 minutes later we had optimal marshmellow roasting conditions!

and zack loved the smores! But, I think he liked roasting them better.

He got bored fishing and found the worms this time to be a lot more intresting.

Reagan is a trooper, she doesn't seem to be an "outdoorsy" sort of gal, I think I will definatly have to break her in.

congrats dad!!

Here is an article from the UGA.org website about my dad!! He has golfed as long as I can remember and has worked hard for this I am so proud that he won it!

May 23, 2008 Probst Ousts Marriott, Bachman for Senior Title Bill Probst won the 15th and 16th holes to defeat Rob Bachman 2 and 1 to capture the 2008 UGA Senior Match Play Championship that concluded at River Oaks Golf Course Friday afternoon. Hal Hintze also gained a 2 and 1 victory over Randy Darrohn to win the Net Division of the tournament. For Probst, who hails from Midway and is a member of the UGA Board of Directors, it was the biggest win of his golfing career.

He has worked hard on his game and is especially adept at the chipping and putting.“The turning point in the match came when I was able to pull off that chip shot on 14,” he said. On the short par four hole he hit his drive to the right of the green, it landed on the cart path and ended up 20 yards past the green behind some high trees.

He hit a beautiful, high arching shot over the trees, onto the two-tiered green, and the ball, after nearly coming to rest on the top tier, trickled down to within eight feet of the hole. It enabled him to tie the hole and keep the match even. On the 15th hole he chipped to within six inches for a gimme par and won the hole when Bachman bogied giving Probst a one hole lead.On the 16th hole Probst hit his best approach shot of the day to about 10 feet from the hole and Bachman missed the green short and right.

Bachman chipped and two-putted for a bogey and Probst upped the lead to two.On the 17th hole Bachman worried that his tee shot may have bounced into the water hazard and was about to play a provisional ball, but Probst, in a gesture of good sportsmanship, reminded him that if he hit the provisional ball it would, under the rules, become the ball in play, which would have had the effect of a stroke and distance penalty.

Probst advised him to see if the ball was in the hazard without hitting the provisional, and sure enough, the ball was not in the hazard. It turned out not to matter as they both made par saving putts to halve the hole, making Probst the champion.

Fishing

We took zack fishing a couple weeks ago, and he had a blast with his spiderman fishing pole It was really fun, and fast fishing. We would throw the pole in and within seconds he would have a fish on. I even caught one!

Happy Hippo Pastry

This weekend we to Novi to a little japanese bakery. It was a lot of fun, Zack got a panda bear pastry, and I got a crab. Jeff of course opted for a regular cream filled melon pan. They had a lot of little animals to choose from, it was hard to decide. I think zack and I stood there trying to pick one for like 5 minutes. We then ate them in the back of the car. It was ran by a japanese woman, and they could barely speak english. The first thing Jeff noticed was a japanese shipping sign they have in their front window, he said he always used the company to ship stuff to the u.s. It was fun, and a little trip down memory lane for jeff as well.

dont they look like they are having fun...

Mackinac Island

My mom came back to MI with me to help out with the mom2mom sale, and then we decided to head up to Mackinaw Island. We had a really good time, but it was so cold! We ended up buying the kids winter hats and stuff. I just need to say thanks to my hubby!! He let me go to utah for what was supposed to be 4 weeks and ended up being 5, then when I did get back he barely saw me because I was busy with the mom 2 mom sale, and then my mom wanted to do this spur of the moment trip to mackinac. Needless to say he has been such a good sport for the last 6 weeks.

fun pictures from utah

It's good to be back! We had a blast in Utah. It was fun to see my parents and hang out with them and my brothers and their wives. Here are some pictures of the fun things we did in utah...

Chuckie Cheese

Zack with a bird, about 2-3 a day fly into my parents windows and Zack had fun throwing the ones that "didn't make it" over the fence. He also had fun helping jake kill mice that were trying to get in through the windows. It was kind of a month of killing rodants and trying to help birds. But Zack got a kick out of it either way it happened.

Zack was "helping" papa clear the snow.

Zack catching bugs, and making them "haul" rocks for his construction site.

Riding his tryke in the garage because it was too cold outside.

Making playdough, but I don't suggest using sea salt, it doesn't come out very smooth

Zack fell off the bed when he was sleeping and this is how I found him, I am not sure how he didn't wake up.

Reagan had a lot of firsts at grammy and papa's house, here she is trying to crawl. She also got two teeth, is now able to sit up on her own, can say mama, and sporadically sleeps through the night.
She also had her first horse ride, I think her favorite part was eating the lead rope, and pulling his mane.
